Raylene Akimi Olina Keliliki
My name is like a map to my life—who I am, my culture, my inspiration, and my family.
From the smallest town of Mapleton, Utah, my journey through the many creative fields of art began. I am Raylene Keliiliki, a versatile artist with a passion for dance, visual art, and modeling/makeup. With a background rich in Hawaiian and Japanese culture, I have been taught that through these three creative outlets I am truly able to express myself. Throughout the years, my creative journey has become a vibrant tapestry woven from these three dynamic fields, each of which informs and enriches the others.
Dance is where my artistic expression truly began. At 10 years old, I was touring with the Utah Valley University Cultural Dance Group to Canada and throughout the U.S.A. From this experience, I was able to discover the rhythm, movement, and storytelling traits of dance and have it be at the core of my creativity. From Polynesian cultural dances to contemporary and urban styles, I use my body to convey stories and emotions that transcend words. I have had the opportunity to showcase these stories through many leadership experiences with groups such as the FACES Dance Company and the Hot Pot Dance Crew.
I have gained a lot of leadership skills throughout my creative journey. I was the drum major for my high school’s marching band and currently hold a student admin position at the BYU Store.
In the realm of visual art, I explore the world through painting, illustration, and mixed media. I am attending Brigham Young University as an Art major with an Emphasis in Administrations. My artwork reflects a blend of my experiences, inspirations, and the vibrant energy I channel through dance. Intrigued by the human experience, I tend to showcase themes of dystopia and an abstraction of reality within my work. I have created several commissions including a bookmark, illustrated based on the themes of a book, that was recognized by the author. Each piece is a fusion of color, texture, and form, capturing the essence of my creative vision.
Modeling and makeup artistry allow me to merge my love for visual aesthetics with the dynamic world of fashion. Graduating from the Barbizon Modeling School, I have been able to express different facets of my personality and artistic style within modeling. As I have started to study the world of makeup, I hope to better hone my skills to pursue a career in the entertainment industry as a makeup and SFX artist . I have found that makeup serves as a transformative tool, enhancing and redefining mine and others looks to complement various creative themes.
Together, these disciplines create a unique synergy in my work. Dance, art, modeling, and makeup artistry are not just separate pursuits for me. They are interconnected expressions of my artistic soul. I invite you to explore my portfolio and experience the blend of movement, visual creativity, and style that defines my work. As I continue on this journey of creativity, I plan to take the world by storm and never stop.
Thank you for visiting, and I look forward to collaborating and creating with you!
